During his 32 years working with the Fielding-Johnsons at Manor Farm, he built up the leading herd of dairy shorthorn cattle, known as the Eff-Jay herd. Taking the top awards at all the shows in the country. A well liked villager, he was reckoned to be one of the best darts players in the area. Harold Maslen and John Pearce worked with Reg for about 10 years, living in Streete Farm House. Both were keen on sporting activities in the village, being "key" players in the football team
